Teaching

Emre Oztek has been teaching piano for over fifteen years alongside his career as a concert pianist and chamber musician. He is passionate about helping students develop technical confidence, musical understanding, and a lifelong enjoyment of music.

His interest in piano pedagogy began during his undergraduate studies at Lawrence University Conservatory of Music, where he studied with Mary Van De Loo. Recognising his aptitude for teaching, she invited him to join the faculty of the Lawrence Academy of Music (Junior Lawrence), where he began his teaching career.

He currently teaches at Dulwich College and Langley Park School for Boys, and has previously taught at Roedean School and Bromley Youth Music Trust. He has also served as Head of Music at Hawes Down Primary School, Head of Pastoral and Deputy Director of the Summer International Piano School, and as a piano teaching mentor and inspector at the Bromley Youth Music Trust, supporting the professional development of fellow piano teachers.

At Langley Park School for Boys, he also organises annual faculty concerts in aid of charity, bringing together staff and students to support worthwhile causes through music.

Drawing on his experience as an active performer, Oztek encourages students to approach music with curiosity, confidence, and artistry, fostering not only technical excellence but also a deep appreciation for music that extends beyond the lesson.
